Running of the Brides 5K - Barn, Brides & Beer!
The Event will kick off and end at Coolidge Family Farm (an Event Venue) in New Gloucester! Participants will be able to run for time, run for fun, or run for beer! All proceeds will benefit local food banks in the surrounding Towns. Hunger is an issue facing hundreds of Maine families and we want to help those who struggle with having to choose between heating their home this time of year or feeding their families.
Runners are encouraged to RUN IN WEDDING DRESSES (both men and women)! What a fun event this will be! So gather your girlfriends, manfriends, race enthusiats, and those that love to laugh and have a good time and register today! Don't have an old wedding dress kicking around? Don't fret! Places like Goodwill and Salvation Army (also great charities) sell them for cheap. Ebay is also a great resource! Feel free to dress up your look with a bouquet or veil but just don't forget your running shoes!
After the race, runners will be welcome to a free beer from Baxter Brewing Company and get a souvenir pint glass!
Raffle tickets will be available to purchase, with all the proceeds benefiting our food banks, for discounts on Photography, DJ Services, Catering, Videography, Flowers, etc. Even if you are in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM getting married soon or are already married, you are still welcome to purchase raffle tickets for your next family event or special occassion.
Participants, volunteers, and onlookers are also encouraged to bring non-parishable items to donate as well.
This race WILL BE professionally timed (for those that will only do it if it is!).
